Walk to Cat Cat
We arrived in Sapa at 6am (its an drive hour from Lao Cai where the train comes in) and as the room wasnt quite ready our guide Hoang took us to breakfast at a little cafe over the road. At 715 we were allowed into our room - time for a shower and quick change before heading off down the mountain.

We headed down into the mist and started the long long descent (via stairs into Cat Cat).

It is however an easy walk compared to what these poor girls had to do. They are carrying large cedar panels up the pathway to build a coffin.

The gorgeous faces of Cat Cat
I just love the ones with character

This lady apparently loves her hoochy kooch (as my mama calls it).. she was however quite keen for the Oreo's we possessed.

As we started the long trek back up the hill we ran into this gorgeous girl with a full "pack" as such. I was starting to get the feeling that the ladies did ALOT of manual labour around here.

Thankfully the gorgeous wonderful and now very very loved guide Hoang suggested that perhaps we get bikes back up the hill.. (a wonderful 15minute ride instead of 2 hours slogging it with no sleep- yes PLEASE!). I'll attach the little video of Mama overtaking me in another post.
